Police begins probe into alleged assault on two govt officials by Union Minister

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: A team of forensic officials and police begin probe in connection with allegations on Union Tribal Affairs minister, Bisheswar Tudu of thrashing two State government officials. The investigating team today visited the office of Tudu at Takatpur in Mayurbhanj district. Earlier this month, a case has been registered against Tudu at Baripada Town Police Station. Acting on the complaints of two state government officers, police has registered a case against the union minister under Sections 323, 325, 294 and 506 of IPC for allegedly thrashing the government officials. District Planning and Monitoring Unit deputy director Ashwini Kumar Mallick and assistant director Debashish Mohapatra has alleged the minister of assaulting them with a chair for not bringing certain files along. The minister, however, had refuted the allegations of manhandling the government officials.
