Puri, Jan 24: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday for his sand sculpture of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at the Red Fort in Delhi, created as part of the Parakram Diwas celebrations. The 7-foot high sand sculpture, featuring 500 steel bowls as installations, was crafted by Pattnaik in honor of Netaji's 127th birth anniversary, using approximately eight tons of sand.

 Expressing his gratitude for the Prime Minister's acknowledgment, Pattnaik stated, "I felt honored when the Prime Minister appreciated the sand art installed by me."

 Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik has represented India in over 65 international sand art competitions and festivals, garnering numerous prizes. His artistic endeavors focus on promoting social awareness, addressing current issues such as HIV/AIDS prevention, environmental conservation, counterterrorism efforts, global warming, COVID-19 awareness, and various other subjects.
