People in age group of 18-44 can administer vaccine as per their preference in private hospitals

New Delhi, Apr 30: People those who are eligible to get vaccinated from May 1 in the age of 18-44 years can choose the vaccine of their preferences at private centres, informed RS Sharma, the chairperson of an empowered committee on Covid-19 vaccination, to CNN News 18 today. Earlier, the healthcare workers, frontline workers and people above 45+ did not have the option for choosing their vaccine preferences as only Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin or Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield vaccines were being administered to them based on which vaccine is available at the hospital. However, the people in-between age group of 18-44 can take the vaccine of their choice at private centres only as they will have to pay for jabs whereas in the government centre they will be administered the vaccine whichever is available to them at free of cost.
