Bhubaneswar, March 8: Chairman 5T VK Pandian and BJD Organisational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das who had rushed to New Delhi by a special flight earlier on Thursday evening, returned back to Bhubaneswar today.
The two key leaders of the ruling BJD, who were supposed to fly for holding discussions ahead, regarding the BJD’s alliance with BJP in the upcoming General Election-2024, spoke up nothing on their swift and short-time visit to the National Capital in a charter flight.
However, reaching Odisha’s Capital City Bhubaneswar in the noon, the two leaders graced the State-level Women’s Day celebration organised at Sankha Bhawan, the BJD’s state headquarters. Here on the occasion, Pandian hailed the women’s active participation in taking the welfare state to a higher altitude excelling in entrepreneurship, agriculture and rural productivity.
Pandian and Das’ visit to Delhi was significant keeping in view the speculations over reports regarding the BJD’s return to the NDA fold after 15 years. In Delhi, the two leaders of the regional party reportedly participated in marathon meetings with a core team of the BJP at the official residence of Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, BJP MP and the party’s election in-charge for Odisha.
Earlier on Wednesday, a phenomenal meeting was held in the Naveen Niwas wherein Pandian, Pranab, a score of Cabinet Ministers with senior leaders of the BJD attended to discuss regarding the futuristic roadmap of the party, in view of the ensuing general election.
