PACS Secretary, RI arrested for taking bribe

Ganjam/Bolangir: Vigilance sleuths today arrested a Revenue Inspector in Ganjam district and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) Secretary in Bolangir district for taking bribe. Vigilance officials arrested Balaram Panigrahi, Revenue Inspector of Bada Kodanda under Bhanjanagar Tahasil in Ganjam district for taking Rs 5,000 bribe. He was caught red-handed by the anti-graft officials while accepting bribe from one Mithuna Kumar Gouda of Rajkundu village under Bhanjanagar in order to submit enquiry report in a case. In yet another such incident, Bansidhar Pradhan, Secretary, Dhandamunda PACS under Khaprakhol block in Bolangir district was caught red-handed by the anti-graft officials for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 8,000 from complainant Rajesh Sahoo of Budhabahal village for recommending his loan application to Branch Manager, District Central Cooperative Bank,(DCCB) Lathor Branch, Bolangir for sanction of crop loan.
