Bhubaneswar, April 6: The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Saturday issued directions to the Director of Sports and Youth Services to restrict outdoor sports activities due to the intense heat wave prevailed in Odisha.
As part of measures to contain sunstroke and heat-related mishaps, the SRC has imposed restrictions on the outdoor sports and gaming activities in the high noon till further order.
In a letter, the SRC has directed to Sports Department to restrict enforcement on all outdoor sports activities between 11 am to 3 pm during hot summer.
“Keeping in view the weather conditions it is requested to take precautionary measures and restrict all outdoor game activities like cricket, football, and hockey during the hot summer. Strict enforcement shall be made on the restrictions of all outdoor sports activities stated above,” read the letter.
