Cuttack, Dec 31: Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSSTA) has applauded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his New Year gift to the teachers and teaching staff on Friday. Expressing gratitude over the approvals of grant-in-aid and salary as per the Seventh Pay Commission, OSSTA General Secretary Prakash Chandra Mohanty said, the Chief Minister is keen to develop the teaching-learning process in the schools. The newly declared grant in aid will encourage the teachers, teaching faculties, and non-teaching staff to be more committed towards their noble duty. Worth mentioning, the Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday accorded approval to 9 proposals including grant-in-aid under 7th Pay Commission to eligible teaching and non-teaching staff. Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said that Cabinet decided to extend state government grant-in-aid to eligible employees of newly aided high schools, upper primary schools, Sanskrit Tols, Madrasas, and, non-government colleges including erstwhile junior colleges.
