Orissa High Court calls for report on Srimandir Parikrama project

Cuttack, April 8: Orissa High Court on Friday called for reports on the Srimandir Parikrama project in Puri. Hearing a petition filed in this connection, a division bench of the High Court issued orders to the State Government and the Archaeological Survey of India(ASI) asking for reports on the objectives of the project in detail, latest by April 17. In the order, the High Court has sought information regarding the particulars of reconstruction around the Jagannath temple. At the same time, the court has asked to file detailed project reports on the executing agencies. Similarly, the High Court has asked the ASI and the government to clarify whether the project will bring any harm to the shrine. The next hearing is scheduled for April 21.
