Odisha’s longest bridge over Mahanadi to be inaugurated tomorrow

Cuttack, Dec 19: The longest bridge in Odisha over river Mahanadi connecting Gopinathpur-Baideshwar in Cuttack district will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tomorrow. The CM had laid its foundation stone in February 2014. The bridge over a length of over 3 kilometres will also connect ancient Singhanath Peetha through a ramp bridge.  The amenities complex on either side with facilities for parking of vehicles, toilets, etc, will be developed as part of integrated development. Officials said that said this Rs 131-crore project, assisted by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), when completed, would be the State’s longest bridge.
