Odisha to start referee development programme

Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: The Sports and youth Services department has taken initiative for the development of referees in the state in association with Football Association of Odisha. Officials said that as many as two men referees and one woman referee from every district will be trained by Referee Instructors of All India Football Federation. These aspiring referees will be eligible for Cat-5 Examination. “There will be 90 candidates from our state. These courses will be conducted in three phases while all the courses will be conducted at Bhubaneswar. The department will bear all the expenses for these courses. This program has been specially designed for the former district and state level football flayers of our state. The intending candidates are requested to contact the respective District Athletic Associations to apply for their candidature,” said an official.
