Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: The Odisha government has decided to provide free Wi-Fi facilities in all state-run universities.
The Higher Education department has asked the registrars of all public universities in the state to furnish the detailed estimate for installation of Wi-Fi facilities.
“The Government of Odisha intends to provide free WiFi facilities for the students in the campus of the Universities for improvement in the academic environment, as most of the study resources/ books are now-a-days available, online. Therefore, you are requested to take steps to furnish a detailed estimate including GST and service charges of executing agency for approval regarding the installation of WiFi facilities in the campus of the Universities,” read a letter of the department.
This step is expected to empower students with seamless connectivity and enable them to access a wealth of educational resources online.
