Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: Light to moderate rain/thundershower has occurred at most places over the districts of Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Sundergarh, and Bargarh of interior and north coastal Odisha during the last 24 hours, the regional meteorological centre said.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur in many places over the districts of Odisha from August 20 to 22. Similarly, light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar & Mayurbhanj and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha on August 23, the midday bulletin raid.
Many places over the districts of north Odisha and a few places over districts of south Odisha are very likely to experience light to moderate rain/thundershower on August 24, it added.
The low-pressure area over south Jharkhand & adjoining north interior Odisha and north Chhattisgarh now lies over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. It is likely to move west northwestwards across northeast Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Ganganagar, Narnaul, Datia, Satna, the centre of a low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood, Keonjhargarh, Balasore and thence southeastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level, it added.
