Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: Three Rajya Sabha candidates from Odisha have been elected unopposed.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Debasish Samantray, and Subhasish Khuntia emerged victorious, with the returning officer set to present them with their certificates.
Come April 3, 2024, the seats of Rajya Sabha members will be vacated, as Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with BJD leaders Prasant Nanda and Amar Patnaik, conclude their six-year terms.
Former BJD MLA Debasish Samantray and BJD party leader Subhasish Khuntia submitted their nomination papers on February 13, in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik and other distinguished members of the BJD party.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw completed the trio, filing his nomination on February 15, the final day for nominations, in the presence of state BJP President Manmohan Samal.
