Odisha: STA deploys new SMS gateway "ODISTA" to cater to various citizen services

Cuttack, Oct 21: The State Transport Authority (STA) has decided to deploy new SMS gateway "ODISTA" to cater to various services offered to the citizens. STA will send SMS from its new SMS gateway "ODISTA" to the applicants of various services relating driving licence and vehicles. Earlier the SMS was sent from Sarathi and Vahan SMS gateway. The applicants of LL & DL will receive SMS after submission of application, payment of fee, booking of slot for DL/LL test, result of the test over SMS from "ODISTA". Similarly applicants of other DL related services like renewal, change of address etc will receive SMS. The vehicle owners will receive SMS during vehicle registration, fee and tax payment, application for permit, application for fitness, grant of permit and fitness, other vehicle related services like renewal of registration, transfer of ownership, issue and payment on e-challan, pollution check. STA has also planned to send SMS to the vehicle owners to pay tax against whom tax is pending, to apply for permit before end of validity, before end of validity of fitness. STA will also send SMS reminders to renew the registration of vehicles, renew the DL in time. With new SMS gateway, STA wish to reach out to the citizens to provide more qualitative service. The citizens should also report to STA, in case they receive SMS asking for payment or offering any service from any other SMS gateway other than "ODISTA".
