Bhubaneswar, July 26: The Odisha government has reopened schools for Class X and Class 12 students on Monday. Accordingly, both government and private schools resumed their physical classes for the students with adherence to the Covid-19 protocols. The government has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the reopening of the schools. However, attending the physical classes will be the decision of students and the parents, said the Principal Secretary to School and Mass Education Department, Satyabrata Sahu. Prior to the reopening of the schools, the government had laid emphasis to vaccinate all teachers against COVID-19 on priority, and district education officers had been instructed to ensure that COVID guidelines are followed. Notably, due to the closing of the schools in view of the pandemic, students lost at least 150 regular teaching days of their academic year.
