Odisha registers highest DA cases last year: NCRB

Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Odisha registered the highest number of disproportionate assets cases against government officials in 2020, revealed the latest data of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). In 2020, while the Odisha Vigilance has filed 93 cases against the corrupt officials, 300 such FIRs were filed across the country. Gujarat stood second with the registration of 37 disproportionate assets cases, while Tamil Nadu was placed third with 21 such cases last year, the NCRB report said. On Friday, the Odisha government has given compulsory retirement to eight more officials for inefficiency and their involvement in corruption. The officials include three Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officials, one former Superintendent Engineer, two CDPOs, former Deputy Superintendent of Excise, and a block office cashier. With this, around 130 officials have been awarded compulsory retirement by the state government so far.
