Odisha records 25% growth in GST collection

Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: Odisha recorded a collection of Rs. 2035.18 crore under state GST in July 2024, compared to Rs. 1628.43 crore in July 2023, marking a growth rate of 24.98 percent. 

The cumulative state GST collection up to July 2024 reached Rs. 8866.95 crore, up from Rs. 7055.53 crore in the same period in 2023, achieving a growth rate of 25.67 percent, official sources reported on Friday.

In addition, Odisha's gross GST collection (CGST + IGST + OGST + Cess) amounted to Rs. 4925.02 crore in July 2024, compared to Rs. 4245.40 crore in July 2023, indicating a growth rate of 16.01 percent. The cumulative gross GST collection up to July 2024 was Rs. 20841.33 crore, compared to Rs. 18058.84 crore up to July 2023, with a growth rate of 15.41 percent.

Furthermore, the collection under all Acts monitored by the Commissionerate of CT & GST, Odisha, including OGST, IGST Settlement, VAT, and Profession Tax, was Rs. 3209.66 crore in July 2024, compared to Rs. 2716.52 crore in July 2023, reflecting an 18.15 percent growth rate. The cumulative growth rate under all Acts up to July 2024 stood at 19.60 percent.

In July 2024, 21.02 lakh waybills were generated, compared to 20.13 lakh in July 2023, showing a growth of 4.44 percent, indicating the buoyancy in the state economy. Of the 21.02 lakh e-waybills generated in July 2024, approximately 12.10 lakh were intra-state waybills, while 8.92 lakh were inter-state waybills.
