Bhubaneswar, July 24:Odisha rail infra has been granted Rs 10,586 crore in Union Budget. It is at least 12 times higher than that of the UPA’s allocation, said Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday.
While briefing press fraternities in Odisha’s Capital City here in Bhubaneswar, Vaishnaw said, PM Modi is keen in scaling up Railway infrastructure in Odisha. Thus, he himself reviews the progress of various ongoing projects in the state.
Mentioning the particulars and detailed project plans of Odisha rail infra Vaishnaw also said, “As many as 40 projects are under development where Rs 54,434 crore will be invested. The railway projects in Odisha will see a massive transformation during the third term of PM Modi. Odisha’s railway network has achieved 100 per cent electrification, while 59 railway stations including Cuttack and Bhubaneswar will be redeveloped as Amrit Bharat Station.”
As many as 427 flyovers and underpasses have been constructed in Odisha since 2014. Apart from it, at least 59 railway stations will be redeveloped into Amrit Bharat Station, Vaishnaw stated.
