Odisha Police rescues 160 missing children so far in second phase of special drive

Cuttack, Mar 4: Odisha Police rescued as many as 160 missing children so far in a special drive. The special drive was launched on February 28 and will continue till March 8. This is the second special drive of Odisha Police this year to trace missing children. Police said that the rescued children included 138 girls. During the special drive, Bhadrak district rescued 26 children whereas Ganjam rescued 13 and Balasore 12. Earlier the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data has placed Odisha at the bottom as far as the recovery percentage of the missing children in the country is concerned. As per the report the recovery rate of the missing children in Odisha was 27.1% in 2019, the lowest in the country. The NCRB data has also said that as many as 5,503 children remained untraced in the state till 2019.
