Covid-19 norms violations: Odisha police collects fine over Rs 5 crore in April

Bhubaneswar, Apr 29: The Odisha police collected fine of Rs 5.24 crore from 1.5 lakh people for violating Covid-19 guidelines issued by the state government in view of the rising cases, informed the DGP today. Addressing a press meet the DGP Abhay said, the second wave of Covid is growing rapidly in the state and due to some people’s carelessness, it is spreading to others. To curb down the growth the government has issued some guidelines and people should strictly adhere to that. “If people do not follow the guidelines properly we are going to take more stringent actions in the times ahead,” he said. Further, he urged the people to use masks and maintain appropriate social distance so that they cam limit the rising cases in the state.
