Odisha Open 2022: Priyanshu Rajawat and Kiran George to clash in final

Cuttack, Jan 29: Priyanshu Rajawat and Kiran George will fight for the title of Odisha Open Super 100, the first ever International badminton tournament of Badminton World Federation at Odisha. All the final matches will be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium (JNIS), Cuttack on Sunday. Rajawat def Kaushal D in a straight games, 21-17 21-14 to advance into the finals while George overcame stiff challenge against Ansal Yadav 19-21 21-12 21-14. Malvika Bansod (India) lost to Unnati Hooda (India) in the first women’s singlessemifinal 24-22 24-22. While, Smit Toshniwal (India) also caused an upset by defeating Ashmita Chaliha (India) in a three-game thriller 21-19 10-21 21-17. PS Ravi/SP Uday came through a three-game marathon to make it to the finals of the men’s doubles, they will play Malaysian pair Nur Mohd and Lim Khim Wah, who came through in another three-game thriller. Treesa Jolly/Gayathri Gopichand (India) registered yet another a comfortable win to advance into the finals 21-9 21-6. Whereas Sanyogita Ghorpade/Shruti Mishra (India) won their semifinal in three-games to qualify for the final. Swetaparna Panda/B Yadav (India) lost out to MR Arjun/Tressa Jolly (India) to end their run in the mixed doubles. The Indians will play Sri Lankan Pair Sachin Dias/Thilini D in the finals on Sunday.
