Bhubaneswar, Mar 13: Skill Development and Technical Education minister today informed that the state government has no proposal for providing unemployment allowance and waive loan to jobless engineering students in the state.
Replying to a query, Minister Premananda Nayak told the Assembly that the government-run technical varsities, engineering colleges and schools have been providing job opportunities to students through their placements cells.
Besides, the students have also been provided with soft skill training, software training and employability skill training. The government has also set up Centre of Excellence at colleges.
He further informed that the state has as many as 46, 731 (9,487 B.Tech, 3,497 M.Tech and 33,747 diploma) registered unemployed technical students.
