Puri, Aug 10: A man allegedly stabbed his nephew to death and left four other members of the family grievously injured in a deadly knife attack in Puri district late on Wednesday night.
The accused has been identified as Nursingha Mohanty.
The incident occurred near Tatambari Akhada Mutt at Upara Malisahi in Puri district when Nursingha attacked his family members with a knife over a family dispute killing his nephew Soumya Ranjan on the spot while the other members including his wife, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and her husband sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the injured were admitted to the nearby hospital.
The accused is absconding from the spot after committing the crime.
Being informed, Kumbharapada police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
