Kendrapara, July 17: A man in Kendrapara district married his soul mate who is a transgender at Sadar police station. The man identified as Kanhu Charan was in love with the transgender for past two years. Kanhu first met Kandhei two years ago at a company in Hyderabad where both of them used to work. It was love at first sight for Kanhu who subsequently decided to marry Kandhei. However, it was a herculean task for both of them to convince their family members. The couple later eloped from their respective homes and took shelter at the office of an organisation working for upliftmnet of transgender community. Both the families have also lodged separate complaints at the Sadar police station. The organisation, however, intervened and solemnised their marriage at the police station.
