Angul, Feb 21: A man from Angul district has lost Rs 38 lakh to cyber crooks investing in trading App.
According to Angul cyber police, SP Mishra from Ganjan district resides on the outskirts of Angul town. He came across a WhatsApp group through Facebook two months back and joined the group to get trading App investment training. He gained confidence attending some training sessions in the group.
Later, he opened an account in the name of his wife and invested Rs 25.40 lakh phase wise. Similarly, he had invested Rs 12.80 lakh opening an account in his name.
When he tried to withdraw the invested money, his accounts showed no money. He exited from the group following which he approached the cyber police station.
Notably, another person from Angul district had lost Rs 62 lakh to the trading App fraud last week.
