Odisha IFS officer DA case: Three forest officers examined

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) today examined three forest department officers, travel and tour operator handling booking of air tickets of chartered flights and hotels and the driver of senior IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak. Pathak was arrested on November 27 for amassing properties disproportionate to his source of income. Officials said that relevant CCTV footages were seized from the residence and the apartment searched earlier. “Verification was undertaken at previous places of posting of Pathak i.e. Rajgangpur, Sambalpur, Balangir, Angul, Boudh, Koraput and Berhampur. Analysis of statements of three bank accounts of his son at Bhubaneswar and Pune showed cash deposits of Rs.9.48 crore and deposits through transfer/clearings of Rs.5.29 crore, totaling Rs.14.77 crore. Verification of land records and educational expenditure is being made. The officers of State Forensic Science Laboratory, Bhubaneswar have started forensic examination of the seized cell phones, laptops and other seized devices,” said an official.
