Odisha govt. to form committee to look into the demands of Driver Association

Bhubaneswar, April 18: The State Government is to form a committee to look into the demands of Odisha Driver Mahasangha and necessary action will be taken within three months, Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera informed on Monday. Reportedly, the decision was taken after a discussion with the drivers. “Discussion with Association were fruitful. We will assess the steps that have been taken by other state governments for their drivers,” added Behera. It is pertinent to mention that, Demanding fulfillment of a 10-point charter of demands, thousands of drivers resorted to a protest rally from Master Canteen Square to Naveen Niwas.
