Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: The Odisha government has increased the budget for ‘Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana’ (MSPY). The budget has been increased by Rs 2 from Rs 9.50 to 11.50 per head.
Under the scheme provisions have been made to provide nutritional supplements to all adolescent girls between the ages of 15 to 19 years.
The budget has been increased following inflation and increase in transportation charges. The state government will now spend Rs 42 crore per year.
Nutritional support such as eggs, laddoos and other nutrition supplements have been provisioned for all adolescent girls in the age group of 15 -19 years across the state for 300 days a year under the scheme. The scheme will begin this year and would be operational for the next five years.
Adolescent girls (15-19 years), pregnant women & lactating mothers, severely acute malnourished and severely underweight children of under 6 years of age across the state have been covered under the MSPY over a period of five years.
The Odisha government has approved expenditure of Rs 3,354.40 crore under the MSPY till 2027-28.
