Odisha Governor, CM, Union Minister pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri

Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. The Governor paid his humble tributes to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 152nd birth anniversary. Paying homage to the 2nd Prime Minister, the Governor said he will always be remembered by all for his exceptional dedication to serve India and his simplicity. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. “Tributes to father of the nation, #MahatmaGandhi on his birth anniversary. On this occasion, let's reaffirm our commitment to nurture and spread his immortal ideals of Ahimsa among people while creating a new order in path of peace and non-violence,” tweeted the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister also paid tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. “Humble tributes to former Prime Minister & legendary statesman #LalBahadurShastri on his birth anniversary he said and added that his golden words, #JaiJawanJaiKisan will continue to inspire us in the process of nation building," he tweeted. Paying rich tributes to Gandhiji on the occasion, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, "Pujya Bapu’s role in galvanising the country, including Odisha towards the struggle for freedom is unparalleled. He not only fought imperialism, but also casteism, social and economic exploitation, untouchability and superstition. #GandhiJayanti.”
