Odisha Fire Service inspects 60 Covid health institutes in wake of fire mishap in Cuttack Covid hospital

Cuttack, Sep 22: Odisha Fire Service visited as many as 33 Covid Hospitals, 26 Covid Care Centres and one Covid Isolation Centre to ascertain the adequacy and operability of fire safety measures in those premises. The fire safety inspection was conducted in the wake of a fire mishap in a Covid Hospital in Cuttack on Monday. A fire has broken out at Intensive care unit (ICU) of Sadguru COVID-19 hospital in Jagatpur area. During visit to different premises, the senior officers of Odisha Fire Service conducted mock fire safety drill and awareness programmes to make the inmates conversant on emergency evacuation procedure, operation of different fire safety gadgets and advised the hospital authorities on required fire safety measures. Such exercise will be part of the continuing efforts of the Odisha Fire Services for safer environment in the Covid facilities of the State.
