Odisha: Covid-19 cases dip for 2nd consecutive day though one more death was reported

Bhubaneswar, July 28: While the State has reported more than seven deaths in July to date, the government hopes the Covid pandemic situation to improve in the next couple of weeks. Odisha on Thursday continued to record over 1000 Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day, reporting 1030 new daily cases in the last 24 hours. With the fresh addition, the state’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 1310115. As per the data shared by the Odisha government’s I &PR department, 179 cases have been detected in 0-18 year age group. While 603 cases were reported from quarantine centers, 427 positives are local transmission cases. Sundergarh reported a maximum of 227 fresh cases, followed by Khordha (164) and Mayurbhanj (110). He was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Parkinsonism. On July 27, a 63-year-old male of Bhubaneswar, who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease with Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty, succumbed. Similarly, on July 26, a 32 -year old male of Angul District, who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Alcoholic Liver Disease, and a 63 year old male of Balasore District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension, died. On July 18, a 44-year-old female from the Puri district died of Covid-19 due to chronic liver diseases and peptic ulcer. On July 16, a 21-year-old patient from Jajpur succumbed to Covid-19. On July 15, an 82-year-old resident of Sundergarh died of Covid and a 78-year-old man died in Bhubaneswar. The state had registered seven Covid-19 deaths in July.
