Odisha: Confiscation of doctor's assets ordered after 25 years

Cuttack, Nov 1: The Authorized Officer, Special Court, Cuttack has passed final order for confiscating the movable immovable assets worth Rs 7.55 lakh of Dr. Dhruba Charan Nath, former Medicine Specialist, District Head Quarter Hospital (DHQH), Baripada. The case of possession of disproportionate assets against Nath was registered in May 1996. After completion of investigation, chargesheet was filed against Nath in 1999. Besides, confiscation proceeding was also filed in the court of Authorized Officer, Special Court, Cuttack for confiscation of disproportionate assets of the accused officer. Lambodar Patra, former Vigilance DSP had investigated the case and Girija Prasad Pattanaik, Special Public Prosecutor, Court of Authorized Officer, Special Court, Cuttack was conducting the case on behalf of the Vigilance.
