Bhubaneswar, April 15: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered the suspension of board examinations for class 10 and 12 for the year 2021.
The decision has been taken in view of the health and safety of students in the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, the Class XII examinations, which are scheduled to start on May 18 have been postponed by the State Council for Higher Education. The decision on the test will be made once the Covid-19 situation improves.
In the first week of June 2021, the state government and the Council for Higher Secondary Education will review the exam and the next decision will be made to give the students the appropriate time.
Similarly, the Class X examination, which was scheduled to be held on May 3, 2021, by the Board of Secondary Education has also been postponed.
All students of Class IX and XI in the academic year 2020-21 will be promoted to the next classes. They won’t appear for examinations for this.
The Chief Minister has directed that all classes in Class X and XII of the academic year 2020-21 be closed from April 19.
The decision will apply to all government, government-funded and private schools in the state-affiliated with the Odisha State Board of Secondary Education and the Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya organization.
