Odisha CM announces Rs 3000 assistance for street vendors and free cooked food for rural poor in view of Covid-19

Bhubaneswar, March 28: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced financial assistance of Rs 3000 each for around 65,000 street vendors across 114 ULBs for lockdown in view of Covid-19. Besides the State government has also decided to provide cooked food to poor people in rural areas. Patnaik said that 100 to 200 free meals will be provided everyday in each panchayat. “ The free cooked food service will be provided by the SHGs and around 10 lakh poor and homeless people will be benefited,” said Patnaik. Earlier on Friday, the CM has announced a special relief package of Rs 2200 crore for welfare of the poor to deal with Covid-19.
