Odisha: Block Programme Manager of CHC arrested for taking bribe

Koraput, Oct 20: Vigilance sleuths today arrested Block Programme Manager of Padia Community Health Centre (CHC) in Malkangiri district on charges of demanding and accepting bribe. Vigilance sleuths said that the accused identified as Srimanta Atibodhi has demanded bribe of Rs 20000 from one Rakesh Chandra Das in his office chamber at Padia CHC in order to prepare and pass hire charges of the Bolero vehicle form April to August. Accordingly, a trap was laid on Tuesday and the accused was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance. “The bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused. His both hands wash gave positive chemical reaction. In this connection a case has been registered and further investigation is continuing,” said an official.
