Odisha Assembly pays tributes to departed leaders

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: The Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly today began with paying rich tributes to departed leaders and frontline workers who lost their lives fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. As the House assembled for the day, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved obituary references for the departed MLAs, Covid warriors, and martyrs. The House paid obituary references to former deputy speaker of the Assembly Prahalad Dora, former legislators Umesh Chandra Swain and Ramray Munda, ex-sepoy of Odisha police, Sitaram Murmu and the Covid-19 warriors, who laid down their lives for the services of the people. After paying obituary references, the Speaker adjourned the House till 5 pm. The winter session of the Odisha Assembly will continue till December 31. The session will have a total of 26 working days including five private members days.
