Odisha allows Ola, Uber to operate for essential services during lockdown

Bhubaneswar, May 4: The State government today allowed operation of two wheelers with the rider only and four wheelers, auto rickshaws, taxis, including cabs auto rickshaws by aggregators like Ola and Uber for essential services during the lockdown. The essential services include transporting residents for Covid testing, vaccination centre, airport, railway station, marriages, funerals and other medical requirements. Besides Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has also been allowed to operate limited number of ‘mo Buses’ from airport and railway stations during lockdown period. The buses can only pickup passengers for destinations only and not for any in between stops “The bus services will be operated with up to seating capacity of the bus only. No standing passengers will be allowed,” said an official.
