Odia woman biker gears uphill in Kashmir valley, covers 8k kms in 11 days

Bhubaneswar, Aug 15: An Odia woman biker Amita Singh has traversed uphill in Kashmir and covered at least 8000 kilometers in 11 days. Amita has travelled by her sports bike in the valley from Srinagar to Kargil, Kargill to Leh and  Leh to the pavilion during the adventure. Apart from it, the heroic woman has crossed the hilly Khardungla pass with her bike. Amita, who lives with her family in Pokhariput area of Bhubaneswar, has had a weakness for bikes since her childhood. He started riding bikes from the seventh class. But after marriage in 2001, she suppressed her dream of riding bike due to family burden. She stayed away from it for more than 15 years and was doing the duty of a housewife. However, she recapitulated the passion again from 2015 after 15 years to satisfy his addiction. Her family members also tendered moral support to her. Meanwhile, she joined the Odisha Bikerni Club in 2017 and roared on the road once again.  Thus, she started her adventurous journey for Jammu and Kashmir on August 3. He travelled 8,000 km in 11 days in the month. On the first day, she biked from Srinagar to Son Marg. Kargil to Sonmarg on day two, Kargil to Leh on day three, Leh to Nubra on day 4, Nubra to Turtuk on day 5, Nubra to Pan Gong on day 6, Pan Gong on 7th day, Leh from Leh on 8th, Sir Churu Jispa in 9th, Jis Paru Manali on 10th day. Ultimately, she ended her mission on 11th day. After achieving the national mission, Amita aims to travel to international destinations by bike in the future. She plans to travel to Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan by bikes. Talking about her adventure journey, Amita said that there are many obstacles in the society for a girl. This restriction increases further after becoming a daughter-in-law. "All dreams were left aside halfway after marriage in 2001. I forgot everything for 15 years and stayed within the family. Now, I have come back to the track," said Amita.
