Subarnapur, Nov 14: An Octogenarian woman, who fell into a 20-feet-deep borewell near Kainphoola village under Sonepur block of Odisha’s Subarnapur district, was pulled out after 12-hours of operation. However, despite the best efforts by medical and rescue personnel, she did not survive.

She was sent to Sonepur hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Sources said, the woman identified as Dukhi Negi who had come to her daughter’s house in Kainphoola village, had gone out to collect some items for making a broom on Monday night and accidentally fell into the abandoned borewell.
Soon after, the NDRF and ODRAF teams reached the spot and started rescue operation. Even Oxygen had been piped in to keep her alive and a parallel hole was dug from a distance of around 10 feet to reach her.
