No respite from heatwave in Odisha: Titilagarh sizzles at 45.5°C

Bhubaneswar, April 30: Odisha continued to reel under intense heatwave as 21 places recorded 40 degree Celsius or more on Saturday. Titilagarh was the hottest place today with a maximum temperature of 45.5 degree Celsius followed by Boudh and Balangir which recorded maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar said that as many as nine places recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius. “ There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 24 hours and it will decrease by 2-3°C thereafter during next 3 days over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C at many places over districts of interior Odisha during next 24 hours and it is likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 °C over districts of interior Odisha thereafter,” said a Met official.
