New Delhi, June 12: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister, asserted on Wednesday that India is poised to witness rapid development of world-class infrastructure under his leadership as he took charge of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Gadkari, embarking on his third consecutive term at the ministry's helm, expressed his commitment to advancing India's infrastructure alongside Ministers of State Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra.
"Resuming office as the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, alongside Ministers of State @Shri AjayTamtaBJPJi and Shri @hdmalhotraJi," Gadkari announced.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with the role in Modi 3.0, Gadkari affirmed, "Under your visionary leadership, India will be equipped with world-class, modern infrastructure at an accelerated pace."
During his previous tenure, Gadkari oversaw a notable increase in the average pace of national highway construction, as per government data, marking a 143 percent surge.
Furthermore, Gadkari's initiatives included the launch of the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme aimed at enhancing passenger car safety ratings.
The veteran leader clinched victory in the Nagpur Lok Sabha seat for the third time, securing a substantial margin of 1.37 lakh votes.
