New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: The NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) has highlighted Odisha’s overall Covid management in its Mitigation & Management of Covid-19 Practices From India’s States & Union Territories report, which was published recently.
In the report, the NITI Aayog has mentioned that the Odisha government entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with two private hospitals for establishing Dedicated COVID Hospitals. The facilities were set up using Corporate Social Responsibility funds of the Odisha Mining Corporation, in collaboration with private hospitals. A collaborative approach with the private sector enabled Odisha to become one of the first States in the country to have a Dedicated COVID Hospital in each of its Districts before end-April, 2020.
The report also highlighted advance payment of four months’ salary for doctors, nurses, paramedical staff to boost their morale and ₹50 lakh compensation for health workers in case of unfortunate death in the line of duty strengthening Odisha’s fight against the pandemic.
