New Delhi, Feb 22: Patiala House Court in Delhi dismissed Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case convict Vinay Sharma's plea for medical treatment here on Saturday. Dismissing Vinay's plea for medical treatment, the Patiala House court also asked the Tihar jail authorities to ensure adequate medical care to all the convicts. Vinay Sharma, one of the four convicts in 2012 Delhi Nirbhaya case, had filed a plea seeking better treatment for his claimed ‘mental illness, schizophrenia and head and arm injuries’. On February 20, Vinay Sharma had moved the Election Commission (EC) challenging the rejection of his mercy petition. Vinay Sharma, through his lawyer AP Singh, told the EC that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was in force in Delhi when his mercy application was rejected by Minister Manish Sisodia. As the code of conduct was in force, Sisodia was ‘ineligible’ to reject the petition, he had argued. Also Read: CM Kejriwal, Sisodia dropped from Melania Trump’s Delhi school visit
