Naveen seeks second AIIMS in Sundargarh

Sundargarh, Sept 14: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday raised the issue of setting up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in tribal-dominated Sundargarh district. During his visit to Sundargarh, the Chief Minister said the state government has been repeatedly demanding the establishment of second AIIMS at Sundargarh and has already made its stand clear in the state assembly. On the occasion, Patnaik distributed Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) smart health cards to the beneficiaries. He inaugurated the programme in Rourkela during his one-day visit to the district. The Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojna Smart card, which will entitle the beneficiaries’ free treatment at all Government hospitals of the state and more than 200 private hospitals of the state and outside, has been issued to about 4.37 lakh beneficiaries in Sundargarh district. In Rourkela, 68,575 beneficiaries received the smart card.
