Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated 21 new bus stands in 13 districts under ‘Ama Bus Stand’ programme. He also laid the foundation for the construction of 124 block-level bus stands in 26 districts.
Describing it as a new milestone in the transport sector, the Chief Minister said that once all these bus stands are completed, 2 crore people of the state will benefit.
He also launched ‘Mo Paribahan Seba’ and mobile app. Patnaik said that there will be no need to go to government offices for various transport services. To make the drivers more efficient in driving, the Chief Minister launched the Su-Bahaka Yojana.
As many as 50,000 drivers will be trained under this plan. The CM inaugurated a driving training center at Palur in Ganjam. The Chief Minister advised all to attach utmost importance to the safety of road and road users and passengers.
The Chief Minister expressed that an effective transportation network lays the foundation for an improved economy. Easy access to diverse institutional services such as schools, colleges, and hospitals is facilitated by well-constructed roads. This process acts as a driving force in the development of a vibrant social and economic community. The Chief Minister offered guidance to the Transport Department, encouraging them to persist in their endeavors to offer higher quality transportation services to the people.
