Odisha: CM Naveen dedicates road lighting system on Puri bypass

Bhubaneswar, Feb 3: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated the newly set up road lighting system from Palasuni Chhak to Lingipur Chhak on Puri bypass road in Bhubaneswar. Officials said that as many as 774 LED lights of 120 watt have been installed on 387 poles on a stretch of 12 km while three high mast lights have also been installed at Lingipur, Keshura and Pandra. The project was executed at a cost of Rs 2.85 crore by the Tourism department. {"id":96063,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} Patnaik said that this project will help commuters during night hours. He said that accidents and incidents of snatching will come down due to the new lighting system. Officials of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that more than 40000 steet lights are currently functioning in the state capital and another Rs 6.7 crore will be spent for additional lighting.
