Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved 11 cyber and economic offences police stations in the state. The new police stations will be set up at Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Brahmapur, Rourkela, Angul, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Koraput, Bhawanipatna, Balangir, and Kandhamal. The state has already three cyber police stations in Sambalpur, Rourkela, and Berhampur. A total of 157 posts have been created for the 11 cyber and economic offences police stations. The posts include 14 inspectors, 24 sub-inspectors, 24 assistant sub-inspectors (communications), 24 constables (communications), and 57 constables. In addition, 40 experts, including finance and accounts analysts, IT experts, and cyber forensic experts will be recruited at the police stations. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said this initiative will put a check on cyber and economic crimes in the state as well as help victims of cybercrime to get apt justice.
