Puri, July 2: Mud ovens (chullaha) in the Gundicha temple in Puri were not vandalized. Rather it is a part of rituals, said a managing committee member, Ananta Tiadi on Saturday. Negating the rumor regarding destruction of earthen ovens by miscreants which is floating in media,Tiadi said that it’s an ancient tradition of the Gundicha temple to demolish the chullahas ahead of the Adapa Mandap Bije rituals of the deities. Subsequently,Mahaprashad during the Rath Yatra is prepared in the new ovens for the sake of the Trinity as the preparation of the Mahaprashad remains stopped in the Srimandir for as many as nine days. {"id":194830,"width":836,"height":966,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} On the other hand, all the 240 earthen ovens are repaired in the very evening before the deities are carried  to their cradle land called the Adapa mandapa, said Tiadi.
