Nayagarh, Oct 24: A woman and her daughter lost their lives after drowning while bathing in a pond in Nayagarh district on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Gholahandi village under Daspalla police limits.
The deceased have been identified as Rina Pradhan (28) and her daughter Barsha (12).
According to reports, the duo had gone to take a bath in the pond in the afternoon today. While bathing Barsha entered into deep waters and to rescue her Rina followed. In the process both Rina and Barsha drowned.
Fire Service personnel with the help of locals rescued them. They were declared dead by the doctors at a community health centre.
