More rain forecast in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, July 24: The well-marked low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal coasts and associated cyclonic circulation are likely to trigger widespread light to moderate rainfall activity with isolated heavy spells of rain with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Odisha during the next 24 hours. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Sundergarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, and Nuapada districts. Fishermen have been advised against venturing into the area of north and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal along and off Odisha coasts, which is likely to witness squally weather with strong surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50 mph.
